The Slow Down

“The Slow Down” is a monthly, donation-based gathering series designed specifically for social impact professionals looking to prioritize their wellbeing. We define social impact professionals as those working (or volunteering) in spaces that create positive change in society, and are invovled in solving our region’s toughest challenges and inequities.

Fright for Future

Fright for Future, ranked San Diego’s #1 Scariest Haunted Attraction in 2023, is back and ready to give you the scare of a lifetime! Step into our haunted maze of “true terrors” and brace yourself for an unforgettable journey through the dark corners of our world. But be warned, these horrors are not your typical ghost stories. We are bringing the scariest issues of our time to light: climate change, pollution, and animal rights. This is not just a scare, it’s a wake-up call.

COMMUNITY WORKSHOP: Learn to be a Memory Worker with natalia ventura

October 30, 6-8pn

Learn about the practice of memory work and participate in a hands-on workshop that will set you up to become a memory worker. Participants are encouraged to bring photos, objects, and other archival materials that tell the story of their family and/or community. You will learn how to dig into your past in order to build the community you want to see in the future.

This FREE community workshop is led by San Diego Made resident artist natalia ventura as part of the “My Creative Journey/Mi Viaje Creativo” artist residency and event series supported in part by the City of San Diego Arts & Culture Commission.

Memory Work: The Radical Act of Remembering

November 14, 6-8pm

Hear from a panel of memory workers, artists, and community organizers working in San Diego-Tijuana. Learn about the concept of memory work and how it can intertwine with art to strengthen communities like the Promise Zone. The event will be broken down into 30 minutes of mixing and mingling, 1 hour panel and discussion, and 30 minutes of wrap up.

This FREE event is led by San Diego Made resident artist natalia venture as part of the “My Creative Journey/Mi Viaje Creativo” artist residency and event series supported in part by the City of San Diego Arts & Culture Commission.

All ages are welcome and Spanish interpreters will be provided.

PARTY GIRL 2000

December 6, 2024, 5-7 pm

This event will be a celebration of womanhood and the highs and lows of having to grow up, showcasing art from Sandrine Bekono in the perspective of Black femininity, rage, desire, and optimism, and will feature music inspired by the 1995 film “Party Girl”, food, and drinks.

Bekono’s dynamic yet playful use of color and anatomy allow her to explore her ongoing relationships with Black girlhood, womanhood and perception.

We welcome those who’d like to put on creative workshops, networking events, fundraisers, socials, and more to inquire about renting our space. Events at the San Diego Made Factory are special. Maybe you’ll learn a tangible skill that many of our makers have mastered and built businesses off of, or attend a networking social with other talented minds…our creative enviorment is the perfect space to experience something unique.
