September 9-13 is of the inaugural San Diego Design Week (SDDW), a five-day celebration of the city’s multi-faceted design community. Programming has been fully adapted with everyone’s safety in mind and will present a variety of options to get involved, both virtual and physical.
Throughout San Diego Design Week, we invite you to come by the San Diego Made Factory at 2031 Commercial St., SD CA 92113 for open studios, socially-distanced local shopping, Factory tours, and to view the compelling mural painted by Yomar Augusto and his assistant Justin Huelbig. The mural spans along the entire building on Commercial Street and is a depiction of Yomar’s art style and an homage to the architecture of the building.
Participants will be invited to walk in and safely view the interior of our space with our resident artists and makers opening their studios and showcasing products for sale (masks required.)
The first 10 people to arrive each day will get a free grab bag with locally-made goods!
When you arrive inside, you will be greeted by a camera where every guest has the opportunity to press record, say hello, and tell us what design means to you! We will be compiling all of the videos to share during our live virtual event.
The Factory Open Schedule is as follows:
On Saturday, 9/12 at 4:00 p.m., we will host our live virtual event with a tour of the San Diego Made Factory and the creative studios we house. Our SDM Team will take you inside the creative studios where you will not only be able to meet the makers and ask them questions but also watch them create in real-time.
